Creating an app
A series of Podcast episodes with some advice and workflows for creating an app from start to end.
Episode 1 - Introduction
There are many different steps to think about, it is not just "I have an idea, let's start coding".
In this episode, I discuss having an idea and identifying a user of the app along with a loose timeline for creation.
Episode 2 - Identifying the right platforms
In this episode, I discuss identifying the platforms that will work best for your application based on the features and users.
Episode 3 - Designing basic views and flows
In this episode, I discuss how to start thinking about the app views. Nothing fancy, at this stage we just want to have some basic line drawings of each screen so we can start to get a feel for the application from the users perspective.
This also leads into considering the application flow and experience while using the app.
Episode 4 - Choosing build tools
In this episode, I discuss the choices and decisions you need to make to start building the application. There are many options available today and it can be overwhelming.
A couple of questions to ask you self as I discuss the pros and cons of going with native technologies or cross-platform options.
Episode 5 - Building the prototypes
In this episode, it is time to talk about building prototypes and getting them in the hands of users so they can provide invaluable feedback as you build the application.
Episode 6 - Design and Accessibility
In this episode, designs and accessibility are now the last development part of the cycle to talk about as we head to testing and polishing the app.
