Podcasts go from strength to strength

When I started my journey into Podcasting, it was more a question of ‘Can I do this.'

Talking now about my Compile Swift Podcast, I knew I had a fair amount to share from the perspective of things to say, especially when developing apps with the Swift programming language.

It was new then, and many folks were starting the same journey. That meant there was a space for someone to get in there and share the experience while learning and helping to motivate others.

Apple, if you are reading this, I'm still available as an official Swift endorsed Podcaster 🙂

Podcasting journey growth by player

When I started, it was rough. Sound quality was still a process of trying different workflows, and each episode sounded very different. Over time, I found what worked and what was terrible. You can find my setup list here if you are interested in how I do it now.

I am 130 episodes in and still putting out helpful and exciting content, in my opinion. Not every episode is gold, but everyone is a step closer to improving the next one.

podcasting growth to inspire you to get started

Thanks to pushing hard this year to overcome my anxiety about interviewing people, I have had more episodes with guests than I ever expected. Thank you to the guests for coming along on the journey and giving the listeners something to learn and think about.

I'm sharing all of this and the charts showing growth to inspire others who might be considering starting a Podcast to do just that. If I can do it and keep going, you can too.

Forget about making something perfect, forget about nerves, and forget the what-ifs. Instead, think about the cans.

Also worth noting, after bringing back my UIBuzz Podcast, where I discuss all forms of software development, it has gained traction quicker than I expected. Always welcome news.

In my episode, ‘The button that made a difference in Podcast downloads, ‘ I discuss how one change dramatically increased Podcast downloads.

Suppose you don't know where to start or how. Ask me. I love to help folks.
